Granger & Co, Buckingham Palace and Mahatma Gandhi

You are probably thinking what do these three things have in common? Well the answer is Mother’s Day…

Yes you heard right, my mothering sunday was pretty random and very my mum & I…

So I told her to meet me at 10:30 in Notting Hill at Granger & Co, i’m sure a few of you will be familiar with this little place. Their brunch is infamous and it was perfect that my mum hadn’t been to Notting Hill since the 80’s when she went to Carnival with my Dad, and saw UB40 before anyone knew who they were.

We started with some Latte’s, and then ordered toasted coconut bread with butter, ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter and a Full Aussie brekkie, all to share…

Before we got going, I got mum to open her prezzies…I think she knew what they were anyway!

She had asked me for them after all…I just wrapped them up in some cute stuff (wrapping is a major passion of mine)

YES – BONE CHINA CUPS

After brunch we had a little stroll up and down Portobello until it started to drizzle with rain, so we headed back to the car to go home….or so i thought, mum decided to take a little diversion via Parliament Square…

So we drove past Buckingham Palace…

We kept having to re-route because there was so much traffic, but my mum may as well be a London cabbie she knows the roads so well…eventually we got to Parliament square, she rushed me out the car with my cameras, saying “quick quick, go and take a picture of the new Mahatma Gandhi statue, and I’ll drive round the one way system really slow and i’ll pick you up at the other side”…

So i did…and here is the proof…

“Ahh that’s nice” – my mum’s classic reaction.

All in all a fab mother’s day, albeit a tad random towards the end…

Love ya mum, i’m sure you will be reading this Xxxxx
