Patara

Just outside of Kalkan you will find the most beautiful white sandy beach called Patara. In the Summer it’s full of people frolicking in the sea (like us) but come Winter, lots of turtles hatch their eggs in the sand. The drive to the coast is also beset with some amazing UNESCO heritage sites that you can see from the car, think Roman Amphitheatre’s like the Colosseum.

There is nothing I can think of right now that would beat the feeling of sand in between your toes and the sound of waves crashing on the shore, with a magnum or calippo in hand. Let the photos transport you there…

After spending a lovely sunshiny day at the beach we decided to head home, freshen up and go for some drinks. Travelling back to Kalkan with a newbie means I get to show them all my favourite spots and that is really never a bad thing when Kalkan looks as pretty as this. Sometimes it’s nice just to sit and appreciate a place and watch the world go by.

After the sunset we stumbled upon Indigo beach club, it’s had a big makeover since the last time i visited. We loved it so much we decided to go back to spend the whole day there. But there is really nothing I would love more to be transported back here sipping my Sangria! But hey the weather is not looking too bad in London at the moment.
