Oh yeah sister. I am still rocking the Old Skool Vans 5 months on from buying them. They have basically replaced my converse and they are my go to shoe as their monochrome style elevates most outfits….and for this post I thought I would go full monochrome….as the saying goes, go hard or go home.
I shot these photos on the lovely Chiltern Street, just before popping into Chiltern Firehouse for the most amazing brunch, that I would thoroughly thoroughly recommend. Underneath the leather jacket from Whistles, which was one of my best purchases, I am wearing an M&S pinafore dress. I have a feeling pinafore dresses and jumpsuits will be in this season, worn with a shirt or long-sleeve jumper underneath! The shirt was last year’s christmas present from my mum, it is just a classic staple from Claudie Pierlot but I loved the detail on the collar, again it is plain and simple but really elevates an outfit.
The bag is my new suede baby from & Other Stories, bought kindly for me for Christmas from my boyfriend, he sure does pick well. Navy and Black together? I hear you all say…I quite like it and I can’t get enough of navy at the minute…makes a nice change from a dull grey palette. I can’t wait to lighten up my outfits with Spring around the corner!
However, it is still too cold to go without tights, so I put a very sheer grey pair on. But it got me thinking that no brand has really mastered the nude tight, whenever I wear a pair of nude tights the outfit goes from good to bad pretty quickly. They are never the right shade for me – why can’t they make them super sheer so you can basically have your own skin colour showing underneath? It seems like quite a simple suggestion, but I think there is a market out there. If anyone has any good nude tight suggestions send them my way!
