My life can be pretty hectic so it’s really important to me to set out some time each week to do something fun with my boyfriend. It can be really difficult when you are both working and not living together to find time to spend with each other. So we opted for an early morning breakfast and stroll close to the City in Clerkenwell. Having been to The Modern Pantry before I knew what to expect, but the food was delicious. That side of avocado was honestly so good, I don’t know what their secret it, but it’s the best avo I have had and I can be quite fussy about how I like my avocado!
Clerkenwell is underestimated, a lot of people work in the surrounding area, so it has its fair share of Pret and Leon, but it also has really lovely independent coffee shops and restaurants. The Modern Pantry is one of them, Granger & Co have opened round the corner from there, The Zetter and Bourne & Hollingsworth are all close by. I also love the beautiful stationary shop Marby & Elm where I bought a few bits and bobs that will feature in some upcoming posts.
I wore the insta famous Marks & Spencer flare sleeve jumper, it is honestly so cosy, though be careful when you eat. It is a good jumper and I am sure i’ll get some use out of it for the next couple of seasons. It is definitely warm enough now to get rid of boots and trainers and adopt sandals and open shoes. These were a Christmas present from Cos, who still do the same style just different colours. I love the dark green colour and the almond shaped front is very popular this season.
I’ve also been wearing more statement earrings of late, it’s funny how fashion comes back around, statement earrings were quite a thing when I was at Uni, then the style changed to very minimal, fine chains and studs in simple gold and silver. But now the wackier and more colourful the better! This twirly pearl pair were from Australia, but I will link below some of my favourite high street options now.
Cat-Eye sunglasses are also back, hooray! Definitely pick up a pair of sunglasses in this style for summer, they can be quite a difficult universal style for people’s faces but there are a lot of options out there. This & Other Stories pair is very neutral but will go with all my summer outfits.
I don’t anticipate I will be wearing jumpers that much longer, it is too hot and muggy now, but I am still living in these jeans and shoes, just adding in a logo tee!
